Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an Evidenced-based, Client-Centered method of counseling with a concentration on engaging the internal motivation of the Client to facilitate positive behavioral changes. This technique can be effective with individuals who experience ambivalence with regard to changing the negative behaviors that have influenced their unhealthy choices. MI is a practice frequently employed by Clinicians/therapists when working with clients grappling with addiction, problem drinking, mild addictions, and substance use and abuse.
