Kara Holisher obtained her Masters of Social Work from NYU, and a BA from Tulane University. She is an active member of NASW, is ACSW accredited, a verified participant on Psychology Today and Healthgrades.

Ms. Holisher has been with First Step Therapy Group since it was founded 10 years ago. She has been providing adults, children and adolescents with individual, family and couple’s psychotherapy, utilizing cognitive behavioral, solution focused and psychodynamic treatment approaches. Ms. Holisher patiently works with, and advocates for, children diagnosed with autism spectrum and Asperger’s disorders.

Kara Holisher enjoys giving back to the community where she is a supporter of the North Shore Animal League and facilitates/coordinates support group and serves as a liaison for neurodegenerative diseases/movement disorders for the NY Metro area.
