Ms. Elzinette Wheeler obtained a BS in Labor Studies from the Empire State College and her Master’s in Psychology from The City College of New York along with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Old Westbury where she was a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society. Ms. Wheeler is a candidate in Adelphi University’s Derner Institute for Advanced Psychological Studies Postgraduate Program in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy where she received three years of specialized training treating children, adolescence, and families. Elzinette holds affiliations with the American Mental Health Counseling Association (AMCHA) and the Division of Psychoanalysis Of American Psychological Association.

Ms. Wheeler is a seasoned professional who maintains a well-established private practice and brings to the table a diversified Curriculum Vitae which includes, but is not limited to, working with Couples, Families, and Individuals experiencing Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, parenting concerns, school issues, self esteem, stress, life transitions, divorce, bereavement, relationship and family conflict. Ms. Wheeler will employ various evidence-based treatment models including psychoanalysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mentalization Based Modalities.

Elzinette believes that Psychotherapy helps to empower and meet specific goals set by the client and where hope is achievable. She will provide a safe place where her Client’s can speak freely about their life’s experiences and struggles. Elzinette listens with curiosity and is intrigued by each person’s unique life story and ability to overcome adversity.
