Tara has expressed that the loss of her protective grandmother at the formidable age of 10 was devastating and life-altering. Tara was the youngest of six grandchildren and she and her family lived with their grandmother. During that time she would develop an enduring bond and wherever her Nana went Tara was in tow like a little angel. Tara would experience a resilient grandmother who suffered through tremendous adversity and trauma with dignity, self-respect, and humility. Watching her family care for her Nana until her death would have a profound impact on her life choices and career path.
