Ms. Julie Qureshi obtained her Master of Social Work from Adelphi University and her BS in community from the Empire State College Old Westbury. Ms. Qureshi is trained in CPT for Substance Abuse from the Beck Institute and EMDR Level 1, 2, and 3 from Adelphi University. She is also trained in Eating Disorders, Compulsive and Addictions (EDAS) from William Alanson White Institute.

Julie has extensive experience working in various hospitals across the tristate area providing services in both an inpatient setting and an OASAS certified outpatient substance misuse program where she was responsible for intakes, individual and group therapy, assessment, treatment planning, and managing a case load of clients coping with various issues including, but not limited to, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and interpersonal relationships.

Ms. Qureshi has over twenty years of experience in the behavioral health arena. One of her goals is to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore and process both past and present issues that are preventing them from attaining their aspirations. Julie’s approach to therapy is integrated and eclectic. She utilizes a process, based on your individual needs, to help increase the client’s self-awareness so that they can attain their targeted goals.

Julie is a staple in the community, and she is committed to giving back and raising awareness on the impacts of Dementia and how it effects the family. Julie is a devoted wife, mother, and a deeply adored daughter who enjoys spending time with her family and nurturing her longstanding friendships. It is an honor and a privilege to have Julie join the First Step Family as her moral fiber is a guiding light for all to follow.
